Hi Kiara!

How are you? It’s been a while since we spoke about relationships.

So, tell me one thing Kiara, when it comes to dating, is there anything known as being too picky?

I would be waiting for you to answer.

Thank you!

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie!

I know what you are talking about. But when it comes to relationships, there is no such thing called picky.

You can set whatever standards you think are capable of. There is such a thing as wanting more to give. But, there are things that come to mind about being ‘too picky’ that makes dating difficult. So, here is the list of things you should not be too picky about:

1. Looks: Finding someone who would complement you is fine. But, ‘punching above your weight’ will decrease your odds of finding someone.

2. Material assets: Looking for someone who has a job and is doing something in life makes sense. After all, you would want a relationship where your partner will support you.

But looking for someone to take care of you, decreases your chances of dating.

3. Want everything in common: Dating websites matching people with ‘compatibility scores’ has made people picky. No partner will fill all your checklists.

4. Level of education: Someone who is educated enough to hold good conversations with you is one of the biggest points in a relationship. But if you want someone who has gone to a reputed school with honors, might be too picky.

5. Relationship history: No one wants to have a partnership with other people’s baggage but it is unavoidable. But if you are judging people based on who they’ve dated, then it is too picky.

6. Too many date rules: If you have a list of things your date should do to ask you out, or how she/he should behave then it might be too picky.

I am sure there are other things too. I hope you get an answer to your question.

Thank you!

Kiara
