HISTORY OF PENCIL SKIRTS:

A pencil skirt is a long evocative garment that adds admiration to your personality. Its origins are said to lie in an incident when Mrs. Edith Hart O.Berg became the first woman

to wear this fabric as a skirt. She started this as a trend for hobble skirts, and later other women also started wearing this attire. The pencil skirts entered the world in 1954 when Christian Dior’s H-line collection introduced another new shape for the modern woman. It is named after its silhouette resembled a capital ‘H’, complete with straight lines and a slight emphasis on the waist. It also offered something tighter and streamlined to make a woman look more appealing.

Later, Pencil skirts became a defining garment in the early 1960s. It could exude sex appeal. It was demonstrated by Sophia Loren who paired it up with strappy tops and tailored jackets. Just like hobble-skirts, these also required a very particular way of walking.

HOW TO STYLE PENCIL SKIRTS?

If you are thinking of pairing your pencil skirt with something different, try pairing them with crop tops, they work the best option. From fitted to loose crop tops, you can pair them with anything. You can also think about uber-trendy Deux-pieces, or try wearing a coat on your shoulders. Never pair it up with jewelry, it does not go well with pencil skirts. Also, posh pencil skirts are paired with simple t-shirts, sweaters, or sweatshirts. They look effortlessly sophisticated. Try leather pencil skirts, and pair them with a bit of bling, like a statement necklace. One look which I think would be killer is pairing a pencil skirt with thigh-high boots.
