Hi Kiara!

This is Stellar. And I have been continuously reading your blogs on relationships. But this time, I have a different question for you. I hope you help me with the best possible solutions for it.

So, Kiara, tell me, what are some good reasons parents should not take their child’s phones as punishment?

Thank you!

Stellar

Hi Stellar!

I can so relate to this question. Being a parent, I have so many reasons to give you. To list a few of them:

1. What if there is an emergency? School shootings are becoming common these days. My child’s school was once a nice place, but after a few threats and real lockdowns, I was afraid to not take his phone away from him. Security-related issues, I hope you know that.

2. Do you want your kid to be social with friends, or lonely? Do not be a parent that says, “My kids do not need a friend they have me”. You are old enough and understand much of the younger generation.

3. You can also use it to keep a check on your kids. Do not call them every hour when they are having fun with their friends.

I hope this answers your questions. Thank you for understanding.

Regards,

Kiara
