QUESTION
Hi Kiara,
Can you please tell me how to have an affair with my spouse? It feels like we’ve lost our love. Whether it be boredom, drudgery, or just the blues, our relationship is suffering. I think this might be a solution. Do you think it’s cool? Please let me know if you have any ideas for an affair.
Love,
Josie!
ANSWER
Hi Josie,
If you are married, but out of love and desire, having an affair with your spouse is not only a wise move, but it’s the right decision too. It serves as an antidote to feeling neutral, taking one another for granted, and putting material things before the relationship. And did you know that having an affair with your spouse can even bring you so many benefits?
Here are some of the reasons why affairs are the best thing ever:
- No doubt having an “affair” with your spouse can help to revitalize your marriage.
- Spending time together, such as going for a walk in the park or grabbing a late-night snack, can be rewarding.
- Being “Familiar strangers” can be helpful when it comes to sparking interest and romance between the two of you.
So, to kick off your romantic life, here are some ideas that you can use to jump-start the romance and fun in your life.
1. Give your partner an unexpected call just to say you love them.
2. Whenever you arrive home, grab your partner and just hug him (prolonged hug) for a moment–no words required.
3. Make a note and put it somewhere your partner will see it, noting what you appreciate about them.
4. Try to treat your spouse like you are just meeting him for the first time together. Greet him lovingly, look into his eyes, and touch his face.
5. Bring balloons home with a note or sign saying “I celebrate YOU!” “You are wonderful!”.
6. Give your partner a special treat one evening. (For example, while watching television, offer to put a stool under the foot or remove shoes to massage the feet. When cooking dinner, offer to clean up, and do dishes while they relax. Give a back rub, play soothing music, etc.)
7. ‘Surprise’ your partner by taking them out to their favorite sporting event, concert, restaurant, computer show, mall, etc. Even if it’s not your cup of tea, you should do it.
9. Write down 10 romantic things to tell your partner and say them periodically over the next few months.
10. It’s nice to take a bath with bath oils, bubble baths, and candles. Tossing rose petals on the bed is another lovely idea.
However, creativity knows no bounds, so you can also dream up something on your own. So I hope you find these ideas useful, and if you use them let me know.
Love,
Kiara!
