As someone rightly said, ‘You cannot buy happiness, but you can buy Ice Cream, and that’s pretty much the same thing’. We couldn’t agree more with this statement!

Ever experienced pangs of hunger and cravings looking at the gorgeous display of ice-creams at a gelato parlor? Then I am sure you will agree when I say these sugary, creamy treats are near irresistible! One thing that most of us share in common is a never-ending love story with ice cream ever since we first licked it! This divinely delicious comfort food is by far God’s best gift to humankind. That’s exactly why we have an entire day to celebrate this frozen delight – National Ice Cream Day. It began in the United States back in the year 1984. All thanks to President Ronald Reagan, who wanted to commemorate the heavenly treat enjoyed by almost 90% of the State’s population.

While most of us stick to the classics and do not stray too far beyond vanilla and chocolate, others enjoy being adventurous and going all out for bubblegum, goat cheese, lobster, and whatnot! You might be screaming right now, and we totally get it. Some things are better when kept the way they are supposed to be. But with a lot of experiments, people have gone beyond to come up with some unbelievable combinations.

So, today we bring you the 10 wackiest ice cream flavors from around the world!

1. Cheetos Flaming Hot Ice Cream

Growing up as a kid I used to love Cheetos ( and I still do). But never in my weirdest imagination could I think of Cheetos-flavored ice cream! I mean, turning every other cheesy snack into a cold treat is just not acceptable! What do you think?

Marble Slab, a leading creamery in Texas and Southeast came up with this cheesy item on their menu! They came together with Cheetos and decided to bring a little twist to regular ice cream. But how delicious this unexpected combination would taste is still a doubt!

2. Ghost Pepper Peppermint Ice Cream

Ice creams are supposed to be sweet! But Ghost Pepper in ice cream is truly a daring combination. The ice cream is a combination of sweet, cool peppermint ice cream and an intense kick of Ghost peppers. These peppers are one of the hottest chilies in the world.

Honestly, I would never dare to even taste this. But if your taste buds are on the savory side, you may give this a try.

3. Lobster Ice Cream

Seafood with a frozen sweet treat? Yes, Ben and Bill’s Chocolate Emporium in Maine has been a forerunner in following this combination. They have been serving scoops of vanilla churned with lobster meat ever since 1988. You heard it right. This vanilla bean and butter base ice cream when mixed with chunks of fresh lobsters, steals the show at the Chocolate Emporium.

If you are a seafood fan, you can give this a try. Some fans of this combination describe ice cream and lobster pairing quite well – the creamy texture perfectly complements the buttery texture of lobsters! But if you are not a fan of seafood, you can definitely skip it!

4. Macaroni and Cheese Ice Cream

Even before I get into describing this ice cream, I would like to say that it is a total miss for us!

Mac and cheese have been a forever favorite comfort food for us. Every time we are out in a Cafe, at least seven out of ten times it is mac and cheese. And then we like to follow it up with a big scoop of ice cream. But can you imagine the two coming together in the form of ice cream?! We definitely did not. But Van Leeuwen, an ice cream company brought out this weird combination by combining cream, cheese powder, milk, sugar, and egg yolks. If you ever feel a bit experimental, you may give this a try, but not us.

5. Tequila Ice Cream

Now, this sounds interesting, and most of you must have tried this ice cream. Ice creams with booze are becoming extremely popular among ice-cream-loving adults. This tequila-infused ice cream is a Mexican way of celebrating traditional Mexican tequila with not-so-traditional dessert. Tequila Ice Cream is surely a HIT for us!

6. Masala Chai Ice Cream

This is for those who love their tea! Masala Chai Ice Cream is a great option for those who are not a big fan of ice cream – but cannot stop when there is caffeine in it. The tea adds a bitter-sweet note, giving an interesting flavor to the ice cream. It is a blend of black tea, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and sugar – but all of this is in the form of ice cream.

Now, whether Masala Chai Ice cream is your pick or not depends if you enjoy your tea hot or cold!

7. Sweet Avocado Cayenne Ice Cream

This weird yet healthy combination is a good option for those looking out for a healthy alternative to regular ice cream. Rococo Creamery came up with the combination of avocado and cayenne in ice cream. People seem to enjoy this combination featuring creamy avocadoes with a punch of spicy cayenne. Do give it a try if avocadoes are your thing!

8. Goat Cheese Ice Cream

So, here is yet another weird combination of cheese with Ice Cream! It is for those craving a frozen delight that tastes somewhat like cheesecake. Honestly, I have tried blueberry cheesecake ice cream, and it wasn’t a disaster. So, maybe adding a flavor to goat cheese might make your ice cream interesting.

Jeni’s scoop shops in the US make weird yet delicious ice cream. They combine red cherries and creamy goat cheese into delicate ice cream. You should give this one a try, they have stores in different locations across the US.

9. Pizza Flavored Ice Cream

Here is a nightmare to all the pizza lovers out there. It has to be, by far, the most bizarre combination ever!

An outlet in Philadelphia, Little Baby’s ice cream serves this weird combination and is sure to change your equation with both pizza and ice cream! Though it’s made with a mix of all our favorite ingredients tomatoes, oregano, garlic, salt, and basil – we are not sure if we would give this a try.

10. Honey Jalapeno Pickle Ice Cream

Another ice cream shop in Denver, US, Sweet Action Ice Cream came up with this strange combination which became an absolute favorite among the to-be mothers. The ice cream features diced cucumber dipped in honey and mixed with pieces of fresh jalapenos – all of this combined in sweet cream. It would be a great pick for you if you love a dessert that’s both sweet and savory!

Whoa! That felt weird and exciting at the same time, didn’t it?

So, with so many strange scoops, do let us know which combination would you dare to try. And if you have tried any of these, do not forget to share your experience with us!
