The History Behind World Chocolate Day And its significance:
Before diving into the history, let me put it out there that this day is different from the Work Chocolate Day celebrated on the 7th of July to pay tribute to chocolate’s introduction to Europe in 1550.
So, back in the 1840s, Valentine’s Day started gaining popularity for the first time. At that point, it was the first time that people started exchanging gifts and flowers with their loved ones. And love was all around in the air! Now, an English entrepreneur and chocolate maker named Richard Cadbury took this opportunity to manufacture chocolates. He introduced the concept of chocolate baskets which became extremely popular among people. Gradually it became a token of love, and this went on to dedicate an entire day to chocolates!
The unique history behind this, and the fact that chocolates are loved across regions and cultures, Chocolate Day holds great significance on Valentine’s Week. Hence, they make for the best gifts for your loved ones! 🙂
