2021 has been quite an eventful year; however, we still haven’t recovered from the pandemic. But we have begun the road back to normality, and with that, the red carpet has unfolded again.
At the beginning of 2020, the glitz, glamour, and fashion that go along with these celebrity moments were sorely missed. This year, when notable events such as the Cannes, Oscars, Met Gala, AMA, and many more returned, celebrities undoubtedly went above and beyond.
In our gallery below, we’ve collected some of our favorite red-carpet moments from the past 12 months. From Bella Hadid embracing vintage to celebrities supporting up-and-coming designers. Also, Zoe Kravitz’s legendary naked look, 2021 was jam-packed with extravagant red-carpet moments.
Bella Hadid gets vintage in Jean Paul Gaultier.
The Cannes Film Festival is one of Bella Hadid’s highlights every year. Her previous triumphs included a barely-there Alexandre Vauthier dress and a vintage Roberto Cavalli, but this black-and-white Jean Paul Gaultier ensemble was our favorite.
An elegant white bodice featured black tulle straps at the top of the dress, extending into a long train, perfect for swaying on the Croisette.
Zoë Kravitz gracing Saint Laurent.
At this year’s Met Gala, the naked dress made a triumphant return. Numerous supermodels and actresses stepped out in barely-there gowns for the event, but no one did it better than Zoë Kravitz, dressed in an unlined, metallic, Saint Laurent gown that showed her tiny undergarments. As usual, Kravitz pulled off the look flawlessly – it was stunningly daring yet incredibly chic.

Zendaya’s Balmain wet-look gown.
It is impossible to pick just one of Zendaya’s many beautiful outfits on the red carpet, as she has had an incredibly successful red carpet year. Her many vintage outfits to her bright and bold Oscars look, which she wore to promote the Marvel flick, and her many Spider-Man-inspired attire, make her one of the most stylish women in Hollywood today.
It’s hard to choose, but this nude Balmain design, which the actress wore to the Venice Film Festival and the premiere of Dune, takes the prize. Even though the dress was figure-hugging, the leather was tailored to the star’s shape, which is why it clung so well to her.

Gucci and Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga’s presence on the red carpet added more than a touch of drama to one of the most awaited films of the year.
Her Gucci gown was the perfect choice for swooshing around at the London event, with its immense sleeves and regal purple hue. The sheer black gloves, fishnet tights, and platform boots gave it a very Gaga-like feel.

Gemma Chan slays in Sohee Park.
There’s never been a better time to watch Gemma Chan on the red carpet, but she proved that this year was no different.
During her red-carpet walk, the actress drew inspiration from Marvel’s Eternals and made a point of supporting Asian designers, something she has done for years. She looked stunning in a two-piece designed by rising designer Sohee Park for the Rome Film Festival. Swarovski crystals covered the dress, and a headpiece matched the dress’s elegance. Quite sumptuous.

Stunning lilac David Koma outfit for Olivia!
Rodrigo won a lot more than awards at the 2021 American Music Awards. Lilac has been making a splash this season. It was a trending color on the Autumn/Winter runways of Marni, Patou, Givenchy, Valentino, and Miu Miu in 2021.
With plunging necklines and a pair of towering silver heels, the 18-year-old Driver’s License oozed glamour.

In Schiaparelli, Cardi B kicked the night off!
Cardi B looked utterly unrecognizable in both a gold mask and a black veil at the event. A gold metallic mask adorned the gown, while a black tulle veil highlighted it. The gold-plated fingers on the gloves make everything look even better. Moreover, there was a statement pair of earrings, which featured gold fingers accented with crystals. It was such an eye-catcher.

Eiza González’s serene outfit awes.
During a UNICEF event in Capri in July, she looked gorgeous in wearable art from Del Core. It’s no surprise that she’s the star of the red carpet. I love the fan-pleated dress from the designer’s debut Fall 2021 collection, and I can’t wait to see what she has planned for the future. She never ceases to amaze me.

Amidst an evening of great British fashion, Dua Lipa wore a strapless dress from Maximilian Davis adorned with sleeve details on a night of great British fashion. Tiffany & Co. jewelry complemented her dress. It enhanced her beauty in a simple, classy manner.
