We’re halfway through November, so let’s #KeepGrowing!

No-Shave November raises cancer awareness each year and offers support to those negatively affected by the disease or who are currently battling it. It is the time for men to commit to not shaving. In addition, it’s a month when men’s health is prominent.

Throughout November, a no-shave movement and Movember are observed. The project involves growing facial hair for a month to raise awareness of men’s health issues, especially prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

We love how all the men have adopted this trend, whether it be facial hair or mustaches.

Since cancer patients usually lose their hair during treatment, the campaign encourages participants to embrace their hair’s growth.

Does the No-Shave November concept still exist?

Social media is flooded with posts about No-Shave November every year, and this year is no exception.

Early on Monday morning, Nov. 1, the campaign kicked off. This cause means a lot to people, as the campaign raised over $1.76 million in 2020. As a consequence, people can observe and perhaps accept their body hair.

Hence, No-Shave November still exists. Hopefully, you got your last shave done on Halloween night!

There are quite a few rules to No-Shave November:

Rule 1: Start with a clean shave.

November’s goal is to start with a freshly shaved face. Grab your grooming tools, and get to work a few days before the 1st.

Rule 2: Don’t shave until December 1.

During No-Shave November, you should ditch your razor and embrace your natural look. The challenge wouldn’t be that great if you were able to shave as often as you like. Thus, you should throw out your razor and refrain from applying any creams or lotions during the month.

Rule 3: Trim if necessary.

No worries if you work in a highly-regulated environment. There’s no need to shave if you can’t show up to work looking disheveled. Instead, trim your facial hair neatly.

Rule 4: Give to charity.

How to look cool while sporting a beard?

Nearly two-thirds of Indian cricketers are beard-faced. Some of the most well-known style icons in football sport them, including David Beckham and Andrea Pirlo. The actors Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor portray them with flair. Many of the world’s most fashionable men are endorsing the popularity of beards. It is, of course, sexy to have one, but growing it takes more than that. With endless styling options and grooming tips, we are venturing into uncharted territory.

HANDLE WITH CARE:

  • Some men believe that beard shampoo and conditioner aren’t necessary. In contrast, if you do not keep your beard clean, the skin beneath it will become dry and flaky. If you notice any rashes, boils, or allergy-like symptoms, consult a doctor.
  • According to a common myth, shaving against grain causes your facial hair to grow faster. Such a practice will cause dark patches, ingrown hairs, and skin damage.
  • Using beard oil daily is safe as long as you rinse off the beard wax before going to bed. If left in for long periods, it will cause damage.
  • It is imperative to use a comb if you have a beard longer than two or three inches. Instead of a machine-made comb, go for a handmade one. If you have a long beard, you should take care to get rid of the tangles, as they will eventually turn into curls.
  • Do not fall for products that claim to grow facial hair. Instead, experiment with the hair you already have.

CHECK OUT THESE AWESOME LOOKS:

ANCHOR

The beard extends down the jawline, leaving the face bare of sideburns. On men with a bit round faces, the anchor makes the chin appear longer and broader.

BALBO

It took inspiration from Mussolini’s henchman Italian air marshal Italo Balbo. In the form of an inverted T, it also requires you to grow a mustache. It looks good on men with narrow faces.

CHIN CURTAIN

Suitable for men with minimal facial hair growth on the chin. Those with a broad jawline will find this style flattering, but those with a long jawline will not.

FRENCH FORK

Men with sparse hair growth on the chin and cheeks may benefit from this look. If you have a long face, you should avoid this style, as it will accentuate its length. These styles suit people with square or rectangular faces well.

HANDLEBAR

Keeping your face clean and hygienic is vital when sporting this classic style of beard and handlebar mustache. This style will be flattering for those with heart-shaped or rectangular faces. The look requires high maintenance.

HOLLYWOODIAN

A vintage beard sans sideburns. There is a good deal of thickness to it, and although it doesn’t require intensive grooming, a careful trim is sufficient.

VERDI

The style bears the name of the great Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi. Beards in this style are short and round-bottomed. It has a slightly shaved cheek and a full mustache.

VAN DYKE

Anthony Van Dyke, a Flemish painter, gave this one its name. To wear this style, you must grow a mustache and goatee while leaving your cheeks shaved.
