Hello all!
Diwali is around the corner! We will be merrily chowing down on mouth-watering treats, mingling with friends and family, and of course, popping crackers! Festive days are never dull when you sparkle like the sun! Am I right? It’s no different for me. My skincare routine has already kick-started so that I can enjoy Diwali looking my best! In this post, I will be sharing my Diwali-specific skincare routine. Let’s get started!
Pre-Diwali Skincare Regimen
Honestly, I often skimp on these practices. Although I have gone weeks without exfoliating my skin, I have been neglecting to moisturize at night. Now I am working on all those flaws so that my skin will shine for Diwali. With Diwali hitting winter in just a few days, moisturizing is essential to keep our skin glowing amidst all the festive crackers. Let me explain what I’m doing to take care of my skin these days.
Decoding the CTM Process (Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturizing)
As soon as I wake up, I wash my face and cleanse it gently with cleansing milk. You are doubly advantageous if you take a bath right after waking up. It is essential to cleanse our skin after a night’s rest to eliminate oiliness, bacteria, and makeup residue.
As a facial cleanser, you can also combine milk cream and olive oil if you suffer from dry and tight skin this winter. I wash my face three times per day with a gentle cleanser and follow up with a toner and an oil-free moisturizer.

People with oily skin should use an oil balancing toner, and those with normal to dry skin should use a calming rosewater spray. It is essential to moisturize your face before going to sleep with a rich night cream.
If you perform this routine a few days before Diwali, it will keep your skin clear and free of pimples. So you won’t be stressed. Also, minimize your intake of sweets and fried food during Diwali to avoid acne.
Weekly Double-Exfoliate
It works wonders at softening your skin before the holiday season! To get rid of the dead cells on my facial skin, I usually get it scrubbed twice a week, and in honor of Diwali, I am doing it even more carefully. Using an exfoliator twice a week in a proper way to remove the dead skin cells that cause your face to look dull is the best thing you can do for your skin.

You can also make your homemade face and body exfoliate with a mixture of rice powder, milk, and rose water. No matter your skin type, moisturize your skin after exfoliating to prevent your skin from losing its natural oils this winter.
DIY Brightening Face Pack
To make the mixture, whisk together a tablespoon of sandalwood powder and one-half teaspoon of tulsi powder. To this, add 2-3 drops of extra virgin olive oil and some rose water. Those with oily skin should avoid olive oil, while those with dry skin should use it. Just combine all the ingredients well and use them immediately! The skin brightening tan-removal face pack is now ready for use!

Despite festive reasons, I swore by this recipe before and have started using it more frequently. You can use it twice to thrice a week for the best results. If you use it after scrubbing, the face pack will improve penetration and give you a glowing complexion!
Not to forget the sunscreen!
Always remember this nine-letter sunscreen chant when you’re out and about! You will not find a better skin protector than this. You won’t get the results you expected from the routines you followed before the festival if you don’t wear sunscreen before stepping out. The truth may hurt, but it’s true.

Even if the weather is cloudy, you should wear sunscreen or sunblock since UV rays can wreak havoc on your skin if you don’t wear them. This skincare routine is not just for Diwali, but can also be used all year round for luminous skin.
Keep Your Skin Hydrated
To look glowing, you must drink a lot of water. Fuel your body well. Drink as much water as you can within the day. Hydrated skin will not flake off. Besides plain water, you can also get water that is flavored with honey or lemon.

Choosing the Right Makeup
If your skin is healthy, the next step is to choose the right makeup for it. Choose beauty products that compliment your skin type. Make sure you apply mascara, highlighter, and blush for a flawless look. It’s best to choose waterproof cosmetics that won’t run out while you run back and forth. Before you apply makeup, rub some ice cubes on your face. It will keep your makeup fresh longer.

To ensure your skin is glowing before Diwali, you can also get your facials done in a spa. However, you should not experiment with new cosmetics until after your festival celebrations are over. It is possible that new skincare products can cause acne breakouts before Diwali, which would be annoying.
Make this Diwali your best yet by following this Pre-Diwali skincare routine. I’ll be posting OOTD’s and gift ideas for Diwali later this week. Let me know what you would like to see in the next beauty post on Diwali by commenting below.
