QUESTION

Hi Petrica,

You are a lifesaver to me. Your help made it possible for me to rearrange my wardrobe and get rid of ruts. I can’t thank you enough.
In recent months, I have been experiencing bad breath and yellowed teeth. Although, I have tried several remedies, such as rinsing with salt, brushing twice, chewing gum, and sometimes using mouthwash.
Could you suggest anything to alleviate bad breath?
Are there any kinds of toothpaste that can reduce yellow teeth and bad breath?

Many thanks
Josie!

ANSWER

Hi Josie!
Keep energizing me with your words. 😀 I understand your concern since it’s a widespread problem. But fear not, I have some terrific tips for showing off your pearly whites whenever you please!

Voicing some simple tips to keep your breath fresh and white:

  • Brush twice a day, which you do already. Please keep doing so! Just switch to fluoride toothpaste. For fresh breath and to help prevent yellowing of your teeth, floss regularly and clean your tongue every day.
  • Get your teeth cleaned by your dentist once every six months.
  • You should also eat well and correctly. Instead of spicy foods, opt for fruit, vegetables, salads, soups, etc. Be careful with sour foods.
  • After every meal, gargle to prevent food from sticking between your teeth, staining your teeth, and making your breath smell awful.
  • Enjoy some fruit after lunch and dinner. By eating fruits, you increase saliva in your mouth, which helps clean your mouth of bacteria.
  • Quit smoking and drinking. These habits are terrible for your teeth.
  • For good breath and whiter teeth, use mouthwash after every meal. Alcohol-free or oxygenated mouthwashes work best.
  • Wash your teeth for 2-3 minutes with a mixture of 1 tablespoon of baking soda, a cup of warm water & three drops of peppermint essential oil. Repeat this daily to reduce stains.
  • Consume parsley or mint leaves. These leaves contain chlorophyll, which helps fight bacteria that cause bad breath.
  • Drink plenty of water to eliminate these bacteria. You should drink fluoridated water.
  • Bad breath can sometimes occur by indigestion. In such cases, ask a doctor or dentist for guidance.
  • Coffee and tea contain caffeine, which yellows your teeth.
  • Brush your teeth with lemon juice and salt to whiten them.
  • Consume apples regularly to reap their many benefits. Celery and carrots are also great for your teeth.

What to remember when you are out and what to carry:

Whenever you are out for a meal, eat probiotic foods like Kimchi, yogurt, and kefir. They are all full of probiotics, which help to support healthy bacteria.

A beautiful smile and fresh breath go hand-in-hand!

Carry a travel-size toothbrush (with a brush cover), toothpaste, and a small bottle of mouthwash, as well as gum or mints to freshen your breath.

The mouth spray is also a valuable dental aid.

In no time, you’ll see that your oral hygiene is improving once they’re in your bag.

Dental product’s upkeep is critical:

Replace dental equipment

When your current dental products expire or wear out, switch them out. Also, swap out your toothbrush after recovering from an illness.

Clean your dental products regularly

Retainers, dentures, and sleep mouth products all lead to the accumulation of bacteria, which is why you must clean them more often to prevent buildup.

I hope using these tips will help you freshen up and whiten your teeth. I have also written several blogs about oral health. Please check them out. If you still experience problems, you should seek professional help.

Love,
Petrica <3
